چکیده
Background and purpose — There is growing evidence that hypoproteinemia an important risk factor for adverse events after surgery. Less known about the impact of vitamin deficiency on postoperative outcome. Therefore we evaluated prevalence malnutrition in geriatric patients undergoing elective orthopedic Patients methods In a retrospective analysis 599 who had undergone surgery 2018 2019, hypoproteinemia, D, B12, folate were assessed. Reoperation rates, readmission complication transfusion rates compared between malnourished with normal parameters. Multivariable logistic regression models used to assess relationship events, controlling confounding factors such as age, sex, diabetes mellitus, frailty. Results showed higher rate reoperation (13% vs. 5.5%; p = 0.01) exhibited more wound-healing disorders (7.4% 1.3%, 0.001) well Clavien–Dindo IV° complications 2.4%; 0.03). Deficiency D led falls (8.4% 2.9%, 0.006). B12 did not affect events. Although correlated frailty (p 0.004), multivariable identified independent (OR 2.6, 95% CI 1.1–6.2) wound healing 7.1, 1.9–26). Interpretation Malnutrition common among represents
